Fake origin
[edit]The empress story seems to be fake. Probably, created in 2010s. This is when this story starts to appear on the Internet.
I also checked some Soviet cookbooks, but didn't find any recipe with more than 3 layers. (And, of course, no mention of the empress story.) --Amakuha (talk) 22:02, 18 December 2022 (UTC)
Origin
[edit]Cited Khimenko book, while mentioning the word "Medovik", doesn't talk about the layered cake, but rather about the Medivnyk, describing two recipes - one is for the city medovik and other is for the "normal medovik", and both sources describe a non-layered cake.
So article should either be restructured, or not mentioning the Khimenko book altogether. Athoremmes (talk) 15:16, 3 June 2026 (UTC)
