Request to update biography – conflict of interest disclosure

[edit]

I am Maylee Todd, the subject of this article. The biography is substantially out of date. I have a conflict of interest and am proposing sourced updates rather than editing the article directly. Maylee Todd Maloo (talk) 00:55, 12 August 2026 (UTC)Reply

I would like to begin by updating the lead section of the article, which no longer reflects the scope of my work or more recent career. In particular, the current article does not adequately cover my work as a composer and multimedia/performance artist, my releases with Stones Throw Records, or more recent independently documented work and awards.
I would like to propose a revised lead with reliable independent sources for each substantive addition. I will post the proposed wording and citations here for review rather than editing the article directly.
Maylee Todd is a Canadian musician, composer, producer and performance artist. Her work incorporates electronic music, multimedia and interactive performance. She has released four solo albums, including MALOO (2022) through Stones Throw Records. The album was accompanied by a science-fiction multimedia project featuring Todd's digital avatar, Maloo, which NPR described as the first digital avatar to perform a Tiny Desk concert.
Todd has also composed music for television. With composer Peter Chapman, she won the 2023 Canadian Screen Music Award for Best Original Score, Comedy Series or Special and the 2024 Canadian Screen Award for Best Original Music, Comedy for their work on the Workin' Moms episode “The End.”

I am the subject of the article and therefore have a conflict of interest. I am requesting that an independent editor review this proposed change.

Proposed addition: Awards and nominations
I would also like to request the addition of an “Awards and nominations” section. Several significant awards and honours from later in my career are currently absent from the article.
Proposed entries:
  • 2022 – AIM Independent Music Awards – Best Creative Campaign – MALOO – Winner
  • 2023 – Canadian Screen Music Awards – Best Original Score, Comedy Series or Special – Workin' Moms, “The End” (with Peter Chapman) – Winner
  • 2024 – Canadian Screen Awards – Best Original Music, Comedy – Workin' Moms, “The End” (with Peter Chapman) – Winner
  • 2024 – Women in Music Canada Honours – International Achievement Leader of the Year – Honouree
