Note on sources used in this article
This article is based primarily on two sources: a 1945 paper by A. Subbaraya Chetty published in the Proceedings of the Indian History Congress and a 2019 article by Kiran Kumar Yeshapogu in the IOSR Journal of Humanities and Social Science. While these are not among the highest-tier academic publications by current Wikipedia sourcing standards, they appear to be the most substantive and specific materials available on the topic of the Matli (or Matla) chiefs. Extensive searches did not yield more comprehensive or higher-quality secondary sources that focus specifically on this subject. The content has been paraphrased carefully to avoid copyvio, and all historical claims are attributed directly to the cited authors in accordance with WP:NOR and WP:RS. - I'm sorry, Sharkslayer87 but IOSR Journals are a predatory publisher, not a reliable source, and are not used as a reference in any of our articles, since I have just deleted them from this article.
A full list of where IOSR Journals appear in our articles, Project pages and Portals can be seen here. This should show no uses in articles (although Matli Chiefs may still appear, depending on the search update speed), their use in Project pages (80) (almost all spam link reports) and use in Portal pages (0).
