in 2023, Guinness Book of Records has recognized that Katarina Brandstation in Stockholm, Sweden, is the world's oldest continuously operating fire station (since 1876). This was recognized after a Swedish historian, who read about the award given to Manistee Fire Station, handed in documententation for the fire station in Sweden.
While the wikipedia article about Manistee Fire Station is correct, i.e. Guiness Book of Records awarded the title in 2019, without further information given, the reader would assume that the firestation still is the world's oldest one. The wikipedia article would be more objective if a text similar to the follwing would be added "... until in 2022 it was proven and recognized by Guinness Books of records, that Katarina Brandstation in Stockholm, Sweden, established in 1876, is as of today (2026) the olded continuously operated firestation in the world.
