Sextant???

A sextant is not a rangefinder. You use it to determine angular separation of two objects, not the range. I have no idea what instrument the writer was thinking of, but perhaps a tacheometer or tachymeter? --Michael Daly 07:18, 12 November 2007 (UTC)Reply
