The content of ʻAkepa was merged into Loxops on 9 August 2020. The former page's history now serves to provide attribution for that content in the latter page, and it must not be deleted as long as the latter page exists. For the discussion at that location, see its talk page.

Proposing merge from ʻAkepa to Loxops

Merge - The ʻAkepa article acts like the common name applies to all species of Loxops but ignores two of them. The article is confusing and splitting them does not serve readers well. --Nessie (talk) 03:34, 16 June 2019 (UTC)Reply
- I agree that these two articles should be merged under a single Loxops article. --Kiwikiu (talk) 06:14, 16 June 2019 (UTC)Reply
  - no, there are a couple of species in the genus Loxops that are not 'Akepa. Conventionally, they usually get separate articles....Pvmoutside (talk) 12:01, 16 June 2019 (UTC)Reply
    - @Pvmoutside: then what is the difference? Neither article explains. Do we know that Hawaiʻi creepers and ʻakekeʻes are not ʻakepas? --Nessie (talk) 13:59, 16 June 2019 (UTC)Reply
      - Support merge on the grounds of Overlap, Short text and Context. While they are not identical in scope, they overlap so greatly, and the pages are so brief, that the topic is best discussed in one place, with any differences in the scope discussed on that page. Klbrain (talk) 13:13, 9 July 2020 (UTC)Reply
      - Support really don't see why we need separate articles just because two of the five species aren't considered "akepas" Geekgecko (talk) 16:50, 2 August 2020 (UTC)Reply
