Chart changed, not showing year-by-year data?

[edit]

Sorry if this is formatted wrong, 1st time ever using a talk board for a page. I swear this page used to have a way to look at the data for each country for each report over the last 10 or so years & now its just showing the most recent (and looking squished tbh) on the chart? Is this right? Or am I misremembering things? If it was changed, it seems like a poor change as now it is giving less info. ToadTendo (talk) 01:56, 28 September 2024 (UTC)Reply

@ToadTendo It was indeed changed. There used to be data for each country from 2010 onwards. I think that it would be a good idea to have past data in (either a 5-year or) a 10-year interval for every country from the earliest possiple year available (2010 or earlier) to have an informative historical overview. Could someone try to recover a previous version with past data for each country? Existential Earthling (talk) 16:14, 22 May 2025 (UTC)Reply

2025 report

[edit]

The 2025 report has been released https://hdr.undp.org/system/files/documents/global-report-document/hdr2025reporten.pdf (page 278). I'll try helping with updating values tomorrow. CROIXtalk 05:10, 6 May 2025 (UTC)Reply

Criteria for ranking

[edit]

First statement: A value above 0.800 is classified as very high, between 0.700 and 0.799 as high, 0.550 to 0.699 as medium, and below 0.550 as low. This DEFINES the criteria for the ranking.

Later statement: Countries ranked from 1 to 74 in 2023 are designated "very high" HDI; those ranked from 75 to 124 are designated "high" HDI; those ranked from 125 to 167 are denoted "medium" HDI; and those ranked from 168 to 193 are designated "low" HDI.

This sounds like it defines the criteria for the ranking, but is just actually the sorting where the ranks change in this particular list. I'm going to remove it since would change at ever revision and is misleading.  • Bobsd •  (talk) 19:02, 28 October 2025 (UTC)Reply

2023 or 2025?

[edit]

The list says that the data is from the year 2023 but the citation says 2025 Polishedrelish (talk) 23:38, 27 November 2025 (UTC)Reply

Crimea

[edit]

Crimea is a territory of Ukraine occupied by the Russian Federation. On this map, Crimea is colored differently from Ukraine. This needs to be corrected. Otherwise, it distorts the real facts. ~2026-22803-6 (talk) 17:58, 11 January 2026 (UTC)Reply

Any information on when the next report will be released?

[edit]

The last report was released over a year ago and the data is from 2023. When will the 2024 data be released? ~2026-30225-69 (talk) 19:35, 14 June 2026 (UTC)Reply

It is needed. So much has changed since that time. Lazarus1255 (talk) 22:45, 9 July 2026 (UTC)Reply
