This article states the Italian Destroyers "Pantera" and "Tigre" were scuttled. Whereas an eye witness, Lieutenant Webb, flying a Wellesley bomber states they were sunk by gunfire from "HMS Kingston". Although the author does concede that reference books disagree, this is not unusual for the time.^[1] Smith, Peter C. (1995. Eagle's War: The Diary of an Aircraft Carrier. Crecy Books, P101. ISBN 0-947554.

Further Wikipedia concedes that gunfire from "HMS Kingston" destroyed the "Pantera" and "Tigre", but states after being "scuttled", rather than just abandoned in shallow water. ^[2] https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/HMS_Kingston_%28F64%29.
