Place of death

The French Wikipedia says he died in "Las Vegas." Other Wikipedias say the same thing such as the "Italian language" Wikipedia. There are Wikipedias that say he died in "Pittsburgh" that is the version of "Wikipedia in English". I haven't found any sources indicating his place of death except the next one. He died in Pittsburgh as he was undergoing cancer treatment at a hospital there. He lived in Las Vegas. This is well-sourced and mentioned in several of the article citations.Lexlex (talk) 16:12, 26 March 2025 (UTC)

@Lexlex I found only one source about his place of death that is the press article in my first message. I confirm this source say he lived in "Las Vegas" and died in "Pittsburgh".I can't found another source confirming these facts in the article on Wikipedia about Mitnick. I read "WP:NOTAFORUM" contained in your message of "MARCH/31/2025" at "19:17 UTC". I think you wanted to put a link to "Wikipedia:Not a forum" instead of "WP:NOTAFORUM". Am I right ? These two links point to the same page but not to the same parts.I'm asking this question to understand what you wanted to say. I'm asking if someone known more sources to indicate his death in "Pittsburgh" or elsewhere.The only source I know that is mentionning his "death place". This is the article from "The New York Times" mentionned in my first message.The editing I'm proposing is add more sources. The reason is some non-English Wikipedias say he died in "Las Vegas".I'd like to add sources that confirm he died in "Pittsburgh" in the article for English language version even if the one we have is sufficienly "reliable" and "independent". Please understand: as an editor, you are responsible for doing the research and either making the edit yourself or proposing a specific change. These extended, vague inquiries—asking others to find sources for you—do not serve the editing process and run counter to Wikipedia's Be Bold principle. If you believe the New York Times article is reliable (and it is), then be bold and make the edit to clarify that he died in Pittsburgh, citing that source. I did researches but I found only this article from "The New York Times" that cite his place of death. I think you're right about "Be Bold". I made researches before create this topic as I knew I had to do this. As , I didn't found another source in order to improve this article. I prefered ask if someone knew one. Unhappily , without additional sources. I can't do the edits I wanted. I haven't the same interpretation than you about the principe policy "Not a forum" but I consider it's unusefull to discuss about this. This "Talk-Page" isn't there for that and it would not be appropriate. Also , I think talk about ours diverging interpretations would not serve the goal in common we have because it's time consuming and useless. I was talking about the goal to improve Wikipedia. I consider this topic I chose to open is closed. The reason is I can't do the edits I wanted to make. I hold to thanks you for yours answers and your time. Draft Kasper sourcing and neutrality review request

Because editors active on this article are familiar with Kevin Mitnick and related topics, I wanted to request feedback here about a related draft article Draft:Alex Kasper, a collaborator of Kevin Mitnick, and disclose a conflict of interest as the subject. Feedback regarding the article as a whole for notability, sourcing, tone, and whether any sections appear overly promotional or insufficiently supported for inclusion in mainspace is much appreciated. I am specifically seeking critical, editorial feedback rather than advocacy. As the subject, I'm too close to the material to evaluate the tone objectively, and after this request I intend to step back from further substantive editing of the draft aside from assisting with locating additional sourcing if needed or requested.

The talk page there also references a prior related version of the article that was deleted in 2011, primarily due to insufficient sourcing. Since then, additional independent and print sources have been incorporated. At a minimum, some of these sources may also be helpful to editors here or working on related articles. Mitnick's life, prosecution, and later career were the subject of numerous books, films, documentaries, and radio programs. In 2000, Skeet Ulrich portrayed Mitnick in the feature film Track Down (released internationally as Takedown), based on the book Takedown: The Pursuit and Capture of Kevin Mitnick, America's Most Wanted Computer Outlaw by John Markoff and Tsutomu Shimomura. In 2001, Mitnick appeared as himself in Freedom Downtime, a documentary produced by 2600: The Hacker Quarterly that examined his prosecution, imprisonment, and the Free Kevin movement. Mitnick also appeared in the television documentary The Secret History of Hacking (2001), which chronicled the history of phone phreaking and computer hacking.

From 2000 to 2002, Mitnick co-hosted DarkSide of the Internet, a weekly two-hour radio program on KFI in Los Angeles with Alex Kasper. in addition to cameo appearances in various television shows and movies.

The current Media section omits several notable appearances of Mitnick with interviews, including Freedom Downtime, and The Secret History of Hacking Adding these would provide a more complete summary of Mitnick's presence in film, television, documentaries, and radio.
