Not just the title but the article as a whole seems to be biased in his favor. He might certainly call himself an environmentalist, but as the article briefly mentions (amid talk of how much he cares for the environment and how he has personally sacrificed financially for the sake of the environment and heritage), he has faced opposition from environmentalists. 1.132.97.80 (talk) 05:04, 23 February 2016 (UTC)

I have to agree. The sources in the "Conservation work on Niʻihau" also seem pretty questionable to me. Neither seem like particularly reliable sources on environmentalism, they seem more focused on entrepreneurship than anything else. TheWorldWeKnew (talk) 20:57, 3 July 2025 (UTC)

I've just added the "Resume-like" template to the page, hopefully not overstepping. The previously mentioned section as well as the "Contemporary activities" section could use some revision (and elaboration of their claims) in particular. Additionally, the decision to include a family tree for such an obscure person (especially with how their ownership of Ni'ihau is being framed and the dubious claims of achievements in regards to environmentalist work) further gives off the impression of this article trying to do some generational and personal mythmaking, but maybe that's just me. I agree re: the resume-like nature of this article, thank you for adding the template to the page. The article violates NPOV in a few spots and certainly needs heavy editing to address bias. However, Robinson's family and their ownership of Ni'ihau is not obscure --- so I think the family tree makes sense here. Ggonnemm (talk) 18:38, 21 July 2025 (UTC)

Lawsuit & Taxes

Robinson expressed concerns about his family's ability to continue to maintain their ownership of Niʻihau, due to pressure from the federal and state governments and environmental groups. Environmental lawsuits have been launched against the family by groups such as Earthjustice while taxes on the island have taken much of the profits from the Robinsons' interests in agricultural companies.

The citation actually says the lawsuit was in regards to the family holdings on Kauai not Niihau so I have removed it. What taxes would they have on their own private island? Perhaps this again refers to his holdings on Kauai not Niihau? Citation needed on this or it should be removed as well. --Dejitarob (talk) 16:43, 15 September 2014 (UTC)

To answer your question - property ownership implies property taxes, depending on valuation. which can be increased by government. It's still part of the State of Hawaii! And no, I don't have a citation. Have you tried a Google or Google News search? Yworo (talk) 16:54, 15 September 2014 (UTC)
