@Miraclepine: This is a misunderstanding. The original tower on which the station was located from 1970 to 1972 was the old A&M water tower. They built a new, conventional tower, which was the one painted maroon. Sammi Brie (she/her · t · c) 21:04, 6 August 2026 (UTC)Reply

I did mean the 1970-1972 tower; I was pointing to ref 11. Just checked again, missed that it extended to a second page (which says "an antenna mounted on top of the university water tower") since I usually click on all the Newspapers.com pages.
