"he came under increasing suspicion" and "they attributed to Manchester's residence".

The article says "he came under increasing suspicion as employees noticed numerous missing items, which they attributed to Manchester's residence", but how could Manchester have come under suspicion, or have had anything attributed to his residence, when the employees didn't know he was there? It makes no sense. Are you trying to say that the employees became increasingly suspicious that somebody was residing in the store and stealing the missing items?
