Conflict of interest

[edit]

The user User:Thomasjlamont has been repeatedly editing this page, and has a clear conflict of interest, please see WP:COI and refrain from further editing this page in the interests of your employer, as you have already done so in reverting my edit. 84.211.61.187 (talk) 16:15, 11 May 2021 (UTC)Reply

[edit]

I am Jason Leitch, the subject of this article, so I have a clear conflict of interest. I am therefore requesting that an uninvolved editor review and make the following factual updates rather than editing the article directly myself.

A number of current-role descriptions are now out of date.

1. National Clinical Director / lead and infobox

[edit]

The article and infobox currently describe me as the National Clinical Director for the Scottish Government. I left that role in 2024.

The Scottish Government announced my departure on 12 March 2024, stating that I would leave the National Clinical Director post at the end of April 2024:

https://www.gov.scot/news/national-clinical-director-to-leave/

I suggest that references to this as a current role are changed to the past tense.

A possible neutral opening sentence would be:

’’‘Jason Andrew Leitch’’’ CBE is a Scottish healthcare quality and patient-safety specialist, academic and former consultant oral surgeon. He served as National Clinical Director for the Scottish Government from 2015 to 2024 and had a prominent public communication role during the COVID-19 pandemic in Scotland.

I am not wedded to that wording and would be happy for an uninvolved editor to determine the appropriate lead.

2. Scottish Government career

[edit]

The article currently says that I have worked for the Scottish Government since 2007 and describes a number of Scottish Government responsibilities in the present tense.

These should now be historical. I worked for the Scottish Government from 2007 until 2024, including serving as National Clinical Director from 2015 until 2024.

3. MDDUS

[edit]

The article describes membership of the MDDUS Board as a current position. This is no longer current. My term ended in 2025.

The MDDUS notice for its 2023 AGM records my reappointment for a two-year term:

https://www.mddus.com/about-us/notice-board/2023/august/notice-of-agm

I suggest either removing MDDUS from any list of current positions or describing it as a former board role ending in 2025.

4. Nazareth Trust

[edit]

The article describes me as a director of the Nazareth Trust. The Trust’s current leadership information lists me as Vice Chair of its Board of Trustees:

https://nazarethtrust.org/about/team-2/

I suggest updating this to:

Leitch is Vice Chair of the Board of Trustees of the Nazareth Trust.

5. Patient Safety Commissioner for Scotland

[edit]

A current role not presently reflected in the article is membership of the Patient Safety Commissioner for Scotland’s Advisory Group.

https://www.patientsafetycommissioner.scot/about-us/advisory-group/

If editors consider it sufficiently relevant, I suggest:

Leitch is a member of the Advisory Group of the Patient Safety Commissioner for Scotland.

6. National Academy of Medicine

[edit]

The article currently dates my membership of the US National Academy of Medicine to 2020. The correct year is 2022.

The Patient Safety Commissioner for Scotland biography records my election to the National Academy of Medicine in 2022:

https://www.patientsafetycommissioner.scot/about-us/advisory-group/

I suggest changing the entry to:

’’‘2022:’’’ Elected to the US National Academy of Medicine.

7. Personal-life information

[edit]

The Personal life section currently includes the occupations of my wife and sister. I would be grateful if editors could consider whether these details about living family members are sufficiently relevant to an encyclopaedic biography to warrant inclusion, particularly in light of Wikipedia’s policies concerning biographies of living people.

Thank you for reviewing these requests. I have deliberately limited them to factual corrections and current roles that can be supported by published sources. QualityBureau (talk) 13:36, 26 September 2026 (UTC)Reply
