I've sent this in the talk page but received no response, can you please help me?

I've been working on the article about Jack Rechcigl for some time now—it's actually my first Wikipedia article. I've been learning a lot through the process, especially thanks to the helpful input from editors like @Bobby Cohn. That said, I do have a full-time job, so my time to edit has been limited. I logged in today planning to make more improvements, but I noticed the following message added to the article:"A major contributor to this article appears to have a close connection with its subject. It may require cleanup to comply with Wikipedia's content policies, particularly neutral point of view. Please discuss further on the talk page." As I’ve mentioned before, I’m continuing to revise the article to better align with Wikipedia’s guidelines and feedback I’ve received. If anyone has specific suggestions, I’d really appreciate the guidance—and if the issues have been sufficiently addressed, I'd be grateful for help in removing the tag. Thanks so much! Problems with NPOV

Notability

Hi all,

Another tag was recently added to the article, stating:"The topic of this article may not meet Wikipedia's notability guideline for biographies." I was under the impression that the subject's notability had already been considered, based on an earlier message I received:

"Hi AgroLover -- I discussed with Timtrent, you can see our reasoning in this discussion thread as well as in this thread; we felt that because the subject was likely notable enough for Wikipedia, the best course of action was to accept and allow for the cleanup with the article in the mainspace. As I mentioned here on your talk page, the maintenance template on the top of Jack Rechcigl can be addressed by following the same cleanup guidance we've discussed above. Continue doing the clean up work as you had been, make sure everything is well sourced, as I pointed out above. If you are stuck on something or need further advice, please feel free to ask. So I’ve continued working on the article based on that guidance—sourcing more thoroughly and revising for neutrality. If anyone has additional suggestions beyond what Bobby Cohn recommended, I’d really appreciate the input. And if the concerns have been adequately addressed, I’d be grateful for help in removing the notability tag.

Hi @AgroLover, I do think that notability under WP:NPROF isn't an issue so I've removed that tag (courtesy ping @Onel5969), as far as the COI concern, please just ensure you are adhering to our COI policies, and if you have any connection with the subject you may declare so on your user page with a simple statement. To reduce these concerns, I do recomend that you continue to remove the excessive prose as discussed earlier, I do believe you have been on the right track with the content removal. Lack of references for major sections

I went through the article's claims and sources and removed several claims which were not supported by their citations. I was able to find a novel primary source in one instance but in most other cases I could not find sufficient evidence to allow the claims to stay in the article. I separated the edits so that each published change only corresponds to a few sentence removals, so as we find verifiable sources we could add these sentences back into the article. @AgroLover you can find the past edits on the top right corner of the article under the tab marked 'history'. Within the history section you can see the past edits.

Do you have any external connection to the subject of this article? If so, you will need to declare so in accordance with WP:COI. It looks like this issue has been brought up before and I do not see a clear affirmative or negative statement regarding your connection to the subject. The Jack Rechcigl article is likely to face continued scrutiny with regards to COI since your account, the originator of this article, appears to exist for the sole purpose of writing this article (see WP:SPA). Single-purpose promotional writing is strongly discouraged as it often results in articles that do not meet Wikipedia standards, thus creating more work for other editors.

But ultimately, Wikipedia is better for having more editors, so everyone will appreciate you taking the time to collaborate on articles here as long as the process is respected. Christian Edmundson (talk) 19:51, 24 October 2025 (UTC)

I would like to clarify that I work at the same university as the subject of this article. However, I have no direct professional or financial relationship with the individual, and I am not being paid to edit Wikipedia.

This is my first article, and I understand that this may raise concerns about being a single-purpose account. I created the article because I believe the subject meets Wikipedia’s notability guidelines, and I understand that other editors have also indicated that the subject may meet those criteria.

I also recognize that I am still learning Wikipedia’s standards and editing practices, which I understand can be complex. I am willing to continue contributing as an editor, but for now I would like to focus on addressing and resolving these concerns appropriately.

I am committed to following Wikipedia’s policies, including using reliable, independent sources and maintaining a neutral point of view. If there are specific issues with the article, I would greatly appreciate any guidance and am happy to make improvements or discuss proposed changes.

Jack Rechcigl article - looking for feedback on improvements and possible tag removal

Hi @Bobby Cohn I've been working on improving the article and have made a efforts to address the issues raised by the maintenance templates. I've revised sections to ensure a more neutral and encyclopedic tone, trimmed or removed content that was overly detailed or off-topic, and added reliable, independent sources where needed. I'd really appreciate it if you could take a look and let me know if there are still areas that need improvement. Hi @AgroLover, I still think it's likely the article overuses peacock prose and inappropriately advocates or promotes the subject. Consider:

• Rechcigl played a key role in securing funding and planning the facility, which was built in Balm, Florida, and opened to the public in 2005. He also oversaw the closure of the previous center and coordinated the relocation of faculty and staff to the new site.

But a Ctrl+F of "key" for the two sources returns:

• "said research is key to the future of agriculture"
• "She played a key role in the logistics of the recent SVU conference in North Miami and was also instrumental in getting Miss Czech-Slovak USA candidates involved in SVU."
• "In 1987 she was appointed to a key administrative position in the School of Medicine where she served as the Executive Director for the Center for Developmental Disabilities and Assistant Vice President of Health Affairs."

So a quick check immediately shows some innapropriate editorialising or WP:WIKIPUFFERY going on. Bobby Cohn 🍁 (talk) 19:30, 20 May 2025 (UTC)

Again, the prose really needs to be neutral and if the content is interesting, that it will speak for itself. I'll note that the second source states "Jack Rechcigl, who is the son of SVU President Mila Rechcigl, is an outstanding example of our successful younger generation of SVU members who have established brilliant careers, of whom the Society can be rightfully proud" so it can be used for basic facts, but it really can't be used to justify promotional language. The article has major issues

Care is needed when reviewing this page, the sources have to be checked.There were and still are too many problems:

1. It contained vast amounts of somewhat irrelevant material such as being a symposium organiser. These are not CVs, I have removed this fluff.
2. Almost everything is from his university or him.
3. Many claims fail verification and/or are not verified by the sources. One of the worst was the claim that he edited a series, when they were co-edited. I view omitting other authors as academic dishonesty.
4. His citations are weak, and we do not consider administrators as notable unless they are university presidents.
5. No evidence of any SIGCOV.
