Fahmi vs Fahmy
[edit]Someone moved the page to change his surname Fahmy to Fahmi. But, it is not enough it should also have been changed in the text. If you do not want to do it then why did you move the page? --Egeymi (talk) 19:37, 6 November 2021 (UTC)

Ismail Fahmi → Ismail Fahmy – The most commonly used Romanized spelling of this individual is "Ismail Fahmy", not "Ismail Fahmi". I notice that this article used to be originally titled "Ismail Fahmy" and it still uses that throughout variants.
"Fahmy" is the common variant used in official and media sources .
The only notable source I see using the "Fahmi" variant frequently is Associated Press in its archive videos .
Plus his son Nabil Fahmy also writes the surname as "Fahmy" and not "Fahmi" .
Therefore I suggest this article's title be moved to "Ismail Fahmy". Linkin Prankster (talk) 22:13, 11 August 2026 (UTC)
