objection to an instance of wording
[edit]I'd strongly object to the wording "racially European" at the end of this article. There is no such race as "European", and such concept didn't exist, to the best of my knowledge, even in the times of the British Empire. Please correct this unfortunate phrase.--DaLoetz (talk) 08:06, 25 February 2021 (UTC)
- I took out "racially" - the source (an exchange from Hansard from the 1930s) does say "European", though. Furius (talk) 13:15, 25 February 2021 (UTC)
Why isn't this titled Indian Political Service
[edit]The name of this article needs to be re-changed to Indian political service. That is what this spy department of the British Raj was popularly known as and it was instrumental in expanding British control in India. Not naming this article the Indian Political Service is part of obscuring the ways the British empire conquered India. 116.71.100.81 (talk) 21:40, 1 March 2025 (UTC)
- This is a ludicrous argument. The department was called the IPD. The men who staffed it belonged to the IPS. How is it obscuring anything? -- Necrothesp (talk) 15:05, 12 March 2025 (UTC)
- I was going to point out that Indian Political Service was merged into this article in this edit, but then realized that you were the one that did the merge! -- Kautilya3 (talk) 21:46, 12 March 2025 (UTC)
