PCN02WPS, I would go with ALT1 for Paul, but maybe say "about 200" instead of "some". It might have a greater impact. For Hurst I would pick ALT2, which is not only (for me) the most interesting hook but also the one most focused on him. What do you say? Surtsicna (talk) 20:11, 28 July 2025 (UTC)Reply
@Surtsicna: fine by me on both counts. PCN02WPS (talk | contribs) 22:32, 28 July 2025 (UTC)Reply
Alright, we go with ALT1 and ALT2, with the aforementioned slight rewording of Paul ALT1. Surtsicna (talk) 22:52, 28 July 2025 (UTC)Reply

Note: @DaniloDaysOfOurLives and I are working very hard to review every single GA nomination in the television section. Consider joining us to clear the backlog!

Lead

[edit]

I think the lead could do with about a 2.5x expansion, to include the major aspects of his career. Note MOS:LONGLEAD: "Few well-written leads will be shorter than about 100 words" IAWW (talk) 17:38, 16 July 2025 (UTC)Reply

This is very unlike me but I somehow just forgot to touch up the lead when I was doing the article. I have added a paragraph! PCN02WPS (talk | contribs) 18:37, 28 July 2025 (UTC)Reply

Career

[edit]

The school received a $515,000 donation: Do we know who from? Or was it anonymous?

  • It was from the "Eliza A. Drew Memorial Fund", which gets like two relevant results on google so I don't really want to name it - tried to settle on a compromise since this is the extra stuff I'd have to include to contextualize if I did name it. PCN02WPS (talk | contribs) 05:13, 17 July 2025 (UTC)Reply

Anderson received criticism from congressman Gordon H. Scherer of the House Un-American Activities Committee but denied that he had received any pressure to make this decision: What was Scherer criticising exactly? Because if it was the decision itself, I don't see how whether he was under "pressure" when to make it is fully relevant. IAWW (talk) 17:38, 16 July 2025 (UTC)Reply

After Anderson attended a White House Conference on Children and Youth,[29] his administration announced another campus improvement project: How is the introductory clause relevant to the announcement of the project? IAWW (talk) 17:38, 16 July 2025 (UTC)Reply

Over the course of his 16 years in office at AU, the school's enrollment grew from 300 to over 5,000 full-time students: This should definitely be included in the lead! IAWW (talk) 17:38, 16 July 2025 (UTC)Reply

[3f] (in note b): I think it's OR and not neutral to say it is an "incorrect" claim. IAWW (talk) 17:38, 16 July 2025 (UTC)Reply

  • The only reason I felt comfortable saying "incorrect" is because of all of the obits from April 20, which make it fairly clear that's he died Apr 19. Removed, though, since I don't want to cause any problems. PCN02WPS (talk | contribs) 16:12, 28 July 2025 (UTC)Reply

I suggest archiving the non-dead URLs to prevent link rot IAWW (talk) 17:38, 16 July 2025 (UTC)Reply

You could add modern day monetary conversions to more of the old amounts. IAWW (talk) 17:38, 16 July 2025 (UTC)Reply
