Another article destroyed by the intersection of WikiEd and AI
[edit]Jesus H. Christ, this article is a mess. Will get around to cleaning it up, but right now it's third on my list of similar articles destroyed by similar means.
Professors: I get it. I'm a professor myself. You want assignments that are outside the box and have real-world impact with a minimum of grading. But having students vomit out ChatGPT splat on topics they know nothing about is not education, particularly when they don't critically assess (or read) the output. They are learning nothing, and those who come to WP for actual knowledge are forced to parse slop like "Understanding allele distributions (e.g. in Iranian, African, Asian cohorts) is essential for donor registry planning, risk assessment in pregnancy, and inventory of matched platelet products." Please stop it. You are polluting the internet with garbage. You are not educating anyone. Stop it. Stop it please. Please God, stop it. WeirdNAnnoyed (talk) 23:45, 4 November 2025 (UTC)
- I don't think that AI slop was added by a student editor. Here are the edits of the one working on it: Special:Contributions/Oparker1021. That huge dump of content came from this anon edit, while the student was working in sandbox and making small edits to this article (that look fine to me). That was for a summer class, but since then, we launched a required AI training module for fall 2025 classes and beyond. Sage (Wiki Ed) (talk) 16:54, 5 November 2025 (UTC)
