Name

There was previously a long discussion related to Icelandic and envisioning an alternate etymology for Helvick. This was entirely unsourced and, again, focused on modern Icelandic rather than Old Norse, which is the language that would have been spoken at the time. I removed that section to put the focus back on the suggestions from logainm.ie which a) is a relevant source in and of itself and b) cites multiple scholarly works in laying out its read in the etymology. ~2026-27412-77 (talk) 13:45, 17 May 2026 (UTC)
