- ... that Lin-Manuel Miranda showed Hannah Cruz a tunnel to her husband?
"'Lin-Manuel Miranda has been saying for a while that he was going to show us this tunnel. He texted my wife, ‘I'm coming over to show you the tunnel.' Backstage in the middle of a performance, Utomi felt a tap on his shoulder—it was Miranda and Cruz!"
- ALT1: ... that Hannah Cruz went viral for her high school performance of "Rose's Turn"?
- ALT2: ... that Hannah Cruz will play the role of Paul Mescal's wife for at least the next decade?

- @Dizzycheekchewer: I strongly advise adding the image to this nomination.--Launchballer 23:09, 8 April 2026 (UTC)
- @Launchballer: Thanks for the tip. I'm good with inclusion either way. I think I added it to the page here correctly. Dizzycheekchewer (talk) 07:31, 9 April 2026 (UTC)
- Commment: Please rewrite ALT0, as it makes no sense at all. ("Lin-Manuel Miranda showed Hannah Cruz a tunnel to her husband") Viriditas (talk) 00:44, 12 April 2026 (UTC)
- I'm a little unclear on the issue. It's spelled out on the page and in the source. They are married actors whose Broadway theaters are connected by a tunnel. Lin-Manuel Miranda (a prominent figure in musical theater) showed Cruz the tunnel, which led to her husband in the other theater. It struck me as a kind of interesting framing that makes people want to know more. That said, definitely open to rewriting, if you could share what about it confuses you or if you had any suggestion of tweaks.
- You're correct. I was reading it all wrong. Makes me wonder if others will read it wrong too. Otherwise, it's a good hook. Viriditas (talk) 09:30, 12 April 2026 (UTC)

@Dizzycheekchewer: Is the current hook supported in the article? You said "Miranda showed Cruz the tunnel, which led to her husband in the other theater". The article doesn't say that. Maybe you need to add it? Viriditas (talk) 02:44, 13 April 2026 (UTC)
- Thanks for calling that out (and for the article-tidying) , I added a sentence to hopefully make it clear. Dizzycheekchewer (talk) 05:02, 13 April 2026 (UTC)
- You did, but the hook is still confusing me! I don't think I've ever had this happen before. This might be the strangest hook I've ever encountered. I wonder what's going to happen to it if I approve it. Viriditas (talk) 09:11, 13 April 2026 (UTC)
- @Dizzycheekchewer: I want to go with ALT0 and ALT2, but it would help if you expand the material about ALT2 in the article ("The story takes place over 20 years, and Linklater will shoot the film over the same time span"). Viriditas (talk) 09:20, 13 April 2026 (UTC)

- @Viriditas: Thank you for the extensive work on this. I unfortunately cannot find anything but the two sources—there is a brief mention in a Playbill source, but it's just referencing Cruz and Utomi performing in the two theaters and the existence of the tunnel. I don't know if it improves it or not, but the Broadway.Com source is really a writeup of an interview (the video is at the bottom of the writeup) on The Broadway Show , which is affiliated with, but ostensibly different from the Broadway.Com organization. It airs on WPIX (a local The CW channel) and The Broadway Channel (which itself is a Gore Organization entity). That program is hosted by Tamsen Fadal, who seems to be a reliable journalist. I tend to think that Broadway.Com is an okay, not amazing source, but think that it works for the non-controversial claims here. Happy enough to be overruled, even if it's my preferred factoid.
- That video was the missing part of the puzzle I was looking for here. I just watched it and that seals the deal for me in terms of the realiability of broadway.com. I will try to fix this in the article. Viriditas (talk) 20:04, 14 April 2026 (UTC)
- I believe I have done so. Viriditas (talk) 23:22, 14 April 2026 (UTC)

- I made other changes to the article to better build out the info for ALT1 or ALT2. Let me know if you think any more/other support would be needed. Thanks again! Dizzycheekchewer (talk) 05:45, 14 April 2026 (UTC)
"Multi-decade film"?
[edit]As far as I can tell, for a multi-decade film, the absolute minimum playing time would be 262,800 hours. TooManyFingers (he/him · talk) 05:54, 3 May 2026 (UTC)
- It's a film that is shot over the course of multiple decades, making it a multi-decade film. Too soon to say what the runtime will be. Dizzycheekchewer (talk) 16:32, 3 May 2026 (UTC)
- That doesn't make it a multi-decade film. A multi-decade film necessarily has a runtime of 30 years or more. I absolutely agree this is a relevant point, just we should call it a better name. TooManyFingers (he/him · talk) 22:31, 3 May 2026 (UTC)

Where's the "Cruz" come from?
[edit]It doesn't say anywhere in the article. I know there's a long history of actresses choosing easily-pronounceable stage names, and I can see why her agents might qualms over "DeFlumeri". But they usually have some sort of reasoning behind how they came up with their stage names. Is it really in no RSes? Bernanke's Crossbow (talk) 17:31, 3 May 2026 (UTC)
- Nobody seems to know. Back in the day (1930s-1970s), this kind of thing was very common. If you became an actor, you were encouraged to change your name to fit the American stereotype of the actor with a monosyllabic surname (for reasons). Nowadays, it is far less common, but I'm guessing because it was once de rigueur, nobody seems to question or wonder about it. I've read lots of biographies about actors, and they were all pretty much told that a name change was required. Viriditas (talk) 00:16, 4 May 2026 (UTC)
- Yeah I didn't see anything mentioning the name change as such in any sources. Iirc, the name change seemed to be around the middle of the 2010s and I have a sense that it might've been a family name rather than a conjured one? But I don't think she discussed it publicly. I assume it's basically what you and Viriditas say, that it was a matter of professional expedience. Dizzycheekchewer (talk) 05:54, 4 May 2026 (UTC)
