References needed
[edit]After checking RTE news archives, I cannot find any references that show the age, history, or locations of Guineys. I know Des Bishop mentions them in one of his shows ("The Celtic Tiger never happened in Guineys"), but without citations I fear this page won't last. 83.70.170.48 (talk) 12:38, 23 August 2012 (UTC)
A note on why the merge didn't happen
[edit]Looking at the current text and an edit summary from 2014, I can see why the AfD-merge outcome wasn't enforced. The key point is that Guineys (founded by Michael Guiney) isn't the same as Guiney and Co. (founded a generatiion earlier by a relative, Denis Guiney). Given that the AfD had limited participation, I support the case for ignoring the outcome, particularly more than 11 years on. Re-nominations are of course fine.
