Was Monmouth the Welsh capital

wording of the history section implies that Monmouth became the capital of Wales from 1673-89, is that correct? Crawiki (talk) 18:53, 4 July 2026 (UTC)Reply

No, but nor do I think the current wording suggests that. The town, and the house, provided a base for the Lord President of the Council of Wales, but did not constitute a Welsh "capital". KJP1 (talk) 19:21, 4 July 2026 (UTC)Reply
