Alderney is a borough, not a state
[edit]It's a fan misconception that Alderney is a state. The only proof seems to be that it's inspired by New Jersey and that it has a "Alderney State" prison. Neither of these are proof. In real life there are examples like the Folsom State prison that isn't in a state called Folsom. And GTA III also had a part of the map inspired by New Jersey that was still part of Liberty City. Furthermore, the official GTA IV map lists the Alderney prison in its top 5 best places to visit in Liberty City. — Preceding unsigned comment added by ~2026-40491-21 (talk) 03:46, 19 July 2026 (UTC)
