Orphaned references in Good Charlotte

[edit]

I check pages listed in Category:Pages with incorrect ref formatting to try to fix reference errors. One of the things I do is look for content for orphaned references in wikilinked articles. I have found content for some of Good Charlotte's orphans, the problem is that I found more than one version. I can't determine which (if any) is correct for this article, so I am asking for a sentient editor to look it over and copy the correct ref content into this article.

I apologize if any of the above are effectively identical; I am just a simple computer program, so I can't determine whether minor differences are significant or not. AnomieBOT 09:12, 28 February 2019 (UTC)Reply

Update

[edit]

hey Someone needs to clean up here. Since about february/march 2025 Dean have not been a member of the group. They are now only the 4 + 2 touring members. 1 on extra guitar (Matthew Koma) and 1 drummer (no idea who he is) but they are not official members. So whoever have locked this page for editing needs to go and edit. 2A05:9CC3:7A:298D:0:0:CD29:B498 (talk) 17:23, 9 August 2025 (UTC)Reply

Nothing can happen here until published sources document the band member changes. Binksternet (talk) 19:42, 9 August 2025 (UTC)Reply
Well it is documented. You follow the band or not? 2A05:9CC3:7A:298D:0:0:CD29:B498 (talk) 22:54, 9 August 2025 (UTC)Reply
I think him not playing for them anymore. Him removing Good Charlotte as one of the bands he works for on Instagram is documentation. They never announced Chris Wilsons departure. All of the sudden Dean was drumming in 2005. 2A05:9CC3:7A:298D:0:0:CD29:B498 (talk) 22:57, 9 August 2025 (UTC)Reply
Wikipedia has a hard policy that does not allow regular people to write down what they have observed. The policy can be seen at WP:No original research. Band member changes must be published. If a musician changes their socials to remove a band, that is a primary source which is normally considered unreliable per WP:USERG. The person would have to make a positive statement about leaving the band. Binksternet (talk) 00:05, 10 August 2025 (UTC)Reply
Well in that case he will be a member forever on Wikipedia I am guessing. Because it does not seem like they are gonna say anything about it. Maybe they will mention it in passing at sometime. 2A01:799:453:D400:6D7F:385C:C493:142E (talk) 13:16, 12 August 2025 (UTC)Reply

In History about "Like its Her Birthday" and "Good Morning Revival" sales figures.

[edit]

Hey It sais Good Charlotte released Like It's Her Birthday featuring Tonight Alive as it's first single on august 24th 2010. That is not true. Tonight Alive is not part of the song. You can clearly hear this is a mash up, and it's posted by a user on youtube (the reference) that has 5 subscribers, and it's posted on November 1st 2010 on youtube. A bit over two months after the single had been released. This is "made up" and not real. The front page is locked for editing so how did that get through? Is it recently been locked?

Then I am wondering about the information that Good Morning Revival sold 4.5 million copies. There is no source added to that.

There seems to be need for some "clean up" on the page, or at least a go through on what is correct information or written by someone for whatever reason, in my opinion. Madsgismerica (talk) 13:48, 12 August 2025 (UTC)Reply
