Goryeo and "kure" reading of 呉

[edit]

On LanguageLog I encountered the claim that the name go'on is actually "Goryeo sound" with 呉 having the kunyomi of KURE. Does this have any merit? I didn't find anything on a cursory search. https://languagelog.ldc.upenn.edu/nll/?p=71316 Awelotta (talk) 08:12, 4 August 2026 (UTC)Reply
