In theory, this article is eligible for DYK. It fulfills the requirements of length and being recently created, and the sources match the information. Certainly the hook will attract attention. However, I have concerns about the notability of the article. Most of the article is not dedicated to any of his achievements, but rather his bizarre death. The description of his death is brief, and his death had no long-lasting consequences (most of the sources in the article come from the year of his death, with none recent). One article describes him as a "a widely published international law scholar", but if so, there should be more sources dedicated to his life or reviewing his work. I took it to WP:AFD. Only way to move forward on this one is to let the community determine notability in a deletion discussion. If it survives we can move forward with review. It it doesn't obviously, this hook would be rejected.4meter4 (talk) 16:58, 10 March 2026 (UTC)Reply
I will complete the review once the AFD discussion is closed.Jaguarnik (talk) 19:52, 13 March 2026 (UTC)Reply
@Jaguarnik: AFD closed with a WP:CONSENSUS view that the topic passes WP:NAUTHOR. I encouraged the nominator to add the book reviews to the article located during the AFD, and Nighfidelity did so. The article reads much less like a scandal page now that more content on his publications has been added. I think the article is now in a much better state, so this exercise was beneficial.
