Wikipedia is not a forum
[edit]Just a reminder that according to policy, article talk pages are for discussing improvements to the article and not for a general discussion about the subject itself. The main reason is that such discussions cloud the issues concerning the compliance of the page content with policies. If editors wish to engage in a slightly off-topic themes, they can do this o their talk pages.Thanks. --Kudpung (talk) 00:03, 26 October 2010 (UTC)
Foster care placement.
[edit]The article says: "Foster care is intended to be a short term situation until a permanent placement can be made When it is deemed in the child's best interest. This is generally the first choice. Preferably by a family member who is a relative such as an aunt, uncle or grandparent. If no related family member is willing or able to adopt, the next preference is for the child to be adopted by the foster parents or by someone else involved in the child's life (such as a teacher or coach). This is to maintain continuity in the child's life. If neither above option are available, the child may be adopted by someone who is a stranger to the child."
User:74.75.235.20 says: the above is not true, foster care often deliberately tries not to allow the child to be adopted by a relative and often adoption by the relative is last case scenario, because the state worries that the child will remain linked to family it may have originally been separated from easier if they remain with a relative, therefore, strangers are OFTEN in many cases (depedent on the degree of the child's situation/abuse ect) are preferred OVER family members. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Lova Falk (talk • contribs) 17:09, 17 November 2012 (UTC)
