extinct?

currently the article says this genus is extinct, which seems to be false as there are several living widespread species. I suppose someone confused the species.referred.to with the genus? Aoholcombe (talk) 23:32, 22 September 2025 (UTC)Reply

Partially correct. Fortiblatta was a junior homonym, and replaced in an online document, but that online document was not validly published under the ICZN rules for online publications, so the name Validiblatta is not valid (ironically). The various species are still in Periplaneta until someone gets that mess straight. Dyanega (talk) 23:43, 22 September 2025 (UTC)Reply
