Incorrect Caption on First Photo

[edit]

The color photograph of Flak-Bait wearing the oversize 200th-mission bomb symbol on her nose was not taken at Andrews Field but rather at Le Culot (advance airfield A89) in Belgium. It had formerly been used by the Luftwaffe. Flak-Bait arrived there at the start of April 1945, flew her her historic 200th mission on April 17, and logged two more there before the war ended, the last being on April 24. She never flew again, instead being disassembled and shipped by sea back to the United States. Textpilot22 (talk) 19:21, 19 June 2025 (UTC)Reply
