First major battle?

It mentions that this is the "first major battle" of the civil war. Is the battle of Fort Sumter not part of the civil war? Is it not a "major" battle? ~2025-39234-55 (talk) 19:57, 1 March 2026 (UTC)Reply

Fort Sumter is major only in that it's the first battle. Otherwise there weren't many men involved, no casualties, and not of particular strategic significance. I think it's accurate to say Bull Run was the first major battle. –CWenger (^ • @) 21:33, 1 March 2026 (UTC)Reply
