CEO Died

[edit]

The ceo of the company, Pietro Ferrero, died in a biking accident.

Food: Life, But Better | CNN

This was an odd thing to see in the lead. I came to the talk page to see if putting it in the lead had ever been debated. I'm going to move things around so the lead maintains WP:LEAD, but I'm happy to discuss here if the interest arises. pickalittletalkalittle🐤🐤🐤talk a lot pick a little more 20:45, 7 August 2025 (UTC)Reply

Luxembourg

[edit]

Ferrero International SA's seat is in Luxembourg, not in Italy! Look at Italian Wikipedia's article--82.60.42.244 (talk) 18:05, 13 January 2012 (UTC)Reply

As mentioned at many other places, Ferrero International SpA (not SA) is headquartered in Alba, Piedmont, Italy, not in Luxembourg. Here's a link to confirm that. 2604:3D08:3682:4500:8D60:22E6:405A:CBFE (talk) 22:18, 5 July 2024 (UTC)Reply
No is not. The headquarter is in Luxembourg. Alba is not the headquarters officially since many years and in fact at least from 2013 when they moved all the main functions Bogix86 (talk) 00:08, 12 February 2025 (UTC)Reply
Given that (1) the result from your link shows that it's in Luxembourg, and (2) Ferrero's official website confirm that the headquarter is in Luxembourg, we should probably amend the article no? 147.161.228.82 (talk) 17:13, 18 June 2025 (UTC)Reply

Reputation institute?

[edit]

In the lead paragraph, reference is made to a 5-year-old rating by the "Reputation Institute". I've never heard of them, and they don't have a Wikipedia article. I happen to work for Ferrero's competitor, but if I didn't have a CoI, I'd remove that, or move it further down in the article. --Slashme (talk) 10:42, 10 July 2014 (UTC)Reply

I agree. The citation links to Forbes, whose article is functionally blocked to me, and anyone else who uses an ad-blocker. Wikipedia should issue a request to all companies to de-block access to Wikipedia reference-links for any and all ad-blocking equipped browers.
Now, Reputation Institute itself has no Wikipedia article whatsoever. Even disreputable entities can have something said about them in a Wikipedia article. The sentence should be removed.JohndanR (talk) 02:12, 3 June 2016 (UTC)Reply

Improving the Products section

[edit]

Hello to anyone watching this page! I'm working on behalf of Ferrero SpA via Glover Park Group and I have a financial conflict of interest. I will not be making any edits to this article for this reason. Instead, I would like to ask if editors could take a look at a rewritten Products section I've drafted.

The current section is not a complete list of Ferrero's products, and extraneous promotional details are given for certain products. Further, the section includes almost no citations. Of the three included, one is a press release and another is the company's website. My proposed draft seeks to remedy these issues and at WP:RS citations. Here's the draft, with the mark-up:

Products

Ferrero produces several lines of confectionary goods under various brand names, as well as the chocolate-hazelnut spread, Nutella. The company has produced Nutella since 1964.[1] The production of Nutella uses one quarter of the world's annual hazelnut supply.[2] In 2014, Ferrero acquired Oltan Group, the largest hazelnut supplier in the world.[3]

It also produces the line of Ferrero branded chocolate products, including Pocket Coffee,[4] Mon Chéri,[4] Ferrero Küsschen,[4] and the Ferrero Prestige line, which comprises Ferrero Rocher, Ferrero Rondnoir, and Garden Coco.[5]

Ferrero's Kinder brand line of chocolate products include Kinder Surprise,[6] Kinder Joy,[7] Kinder Chocolate bars,[8] Kinder Happy Hippo,[9] Kinder Maxi,[8] Kinder Duplo,[10] Kinder Country,[11] Kinder Délice,[12] and Kinder Bueno.[13][14]

Ferrero has been producing Thorntons products since the company acquired the British chocolate retailer in June 2015.[15] The company also produces Tic Tacs,[7] candy available in mint,[16] cinnamon, and fruit flavors.[17][18] Ferrero also produces sugar free versions.[19] Other Ferrero products include Giotto,[4] Fiesta Ferrero,[20] Hanuta chocolate hazelnut-filled wafers[21] and Gran Soleil frozen desserts.[22]

I'd appreciate any feedback! If this draft looks good, would someone be willing to move it into the article in place of the current Products content?

Also, I've recently submitted a draft to WP:AfC for a new article for Kinder Joy and would love input on that if anyone interested in Ferrero and Kinder would like to take a look. Thanks in advance, 16912 Rhiannon (Talk · COI) 23:00, 16 December 2015 (UTC)Reply

Hi Rhiannon, I think you might be missing the Confetteria Raffaello. Other than that, the draft looks good. Doulph88 (talk) 08:31, 16 January 2016 (UTC)Reply
Good catch, Doulph! I've added and cited Confetteria Raffaello into the draft, you can see the updated version below:

The chocolate-hazelnut confection known as gianduja was not invented by Ferrero. During the Napoleonic era, when cocoa beans were scarce, chocolatiers ground up local hazelnuts to substitute for some of the cocoa powder. This created the first gianduja.

This isn't a place to actually talk to Ferrero itself. It's where Wikipedians go to discuss content on their article about Ferrero. 2604:3D08:3682:4500:5052:E99E:4A79:724C (talk) 19:39, 4 July 2024 (UTC)Reply

Merging WK Kellogg Co

[edit]

The following discussion is closed. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made on the appropriate discussion page. No further edits should be made to this discussion.

WK Kellogg Co was split from Kellogg's in 2023 and recently acquired by Ferrero. The short-lived entity, while notable, can be covered in a paragraph or two here at the main article. 162 etc. (talk) 17:16, 12 December 2025 (UTC)Reply

Support Change Kellogg's article to present tense as a brand of Mars and Ferrero respectively whilst merging relevant WK Kellogg Co content into Ferrero Update6 (talk) 11:36, 22 December 2025 (UTC)Reply
Oppose While it is true that WK Kellogg only existed for a couple of years before its acquisition, this doesn't take away from its notability as a standalone company.
To answer the question from "162 etc" above, the thing that is missing is that by definition, the article about The Kellogg company only covers the entity's existence until October 2023. WK Kellogg was a newly formed standalone entity that existed for another two years after that. If the WK Kellogg article were to be merged into Ferrero, then Wikipedia would have no article about the company that existed between October 2023 and 2025.
Regarding the comments from "Update6" above, the suggestion that the article about The Kellogg company should be unilaterally changed into an article about the Kelloggs brand is not well-thought out. A company and a brand are two vastly different things, and this would require a wholesale rewriting of the entire article about The Kellogg Company. It would also mean that Wikipedia would no longer have an article about The Kellogg Company. Stockst (talk) 20:57, 25 December 2025 (UTC)Reply
>"then Wikipedia would have no article about the company that existed between October 2023 and December 2025."
That's fine. Through the magic of primary redirects, anybody clicking on WK Kellogg Co would be brought to the relevant section here on the Ferrero SpA article. 162 etc. (talk) 18:51, 27 December 2025 (UTC)Reply
No, it's not "fine". Just as The Kellogg Company is a notable company and deserves its own article, the same also applies to WK Kellogg Co. Stockst (talk) 20:25, 8 January 2026 (UTC)Reply
I tend to agree with this sentiment. There is no bandwidth shortage on Wikipedia, as some at times may have argued. We can house a few articles that don't excite every Wikipedian.MaynardClark (talk) 01:26, 13 March 2026 (UTC)Reply
The user Stockst is the one who created the redundant duplicate article so that explains why they oppose Update6 (talk) 01:10, 31 December 2025 (UTC)Reply
There are quite a few things wrong with your post, despite being only 18 words long. First, I don't see the relevance of your assertion to the discussion. Second, I oppose the merger for the reasons outlined, not because I created the Kellanova article. Third, your assertion "redundant duplicate article" is an Ipse dixit phrase. Stockst (talk) 20:26, 8 January 2026 (UTC)Reply
 • Oppose WK Kellogg Co still exists and operates as a significant subsidiary, as do other subsidiaries of Ferrero who also continue to have their own Wikipedia pages, such as Burton's Biscuit Company and Fox's Biscuits. Dmoore5556 (talk) 18:32, 1 January 2026 (UTC)Reply
 • Support We would link "WK Kellogg Co" to this page if someone came searching for it specifically, and the internal link from Kellogg's page to this page would also exist with the hyperlink word being "WK Kellogg Co." Notability just isn't high enough for a standalone page, as is proven by the very thin article that currently exists, and all relevant data is covered on the other two pages. pickalittletalkalittle🐤🐤🐤talk a lot pick a little more 19:20, 8 January 2026 (UTC)Reply
 • While I have no strong opinions on a merger either way, it looks like most of the arguments against merging are about notability or whether it exists. That's not what we're !voting on. We're trying to decide whether the content is more useful as a separate article as opposed to a section in a broader article, and the current opposition doesn't contribute all that much to consensus on this issue. This goes doubly for the WP:OSE arguments. Thebiguglyalien (talk) 🛸 21:40, 9 February 2026 (UTC)Reply

Against merge of WK Kellogg Co

[edit]

I have given four reasons below why I oppose this merge of WK Kellogg Co with Ferrero SpA they are:

Catfurball (talk) 21:46, 12 March 2026 (UTC)Reply

 • Reason 5: To me it stupid to merge a United States company article into an Italy company article.
 • Reason 6: It is big enough to be its own standalone article.
 • Reason 7: More new material will only make WK Kellogg Co a bigger article, and it has twenty-seven thousand plus bytes.

Catfurball (talk) 14:33, 14 March 2026 (UTC)Reply

 • Reason 8: Some subsidiaries have been sold many times, one example is Keebler Company, and there has to be other subsidiaries just like it.

Catfurball (talk) 16:19, 20 March 2026 (UTC)Reply

 • Reason 9: The Ferrero SpA article uses British English, and the WK Kellogg Co article uses American English.

Duplo is not a kinder product?

[edit]

I had an arguement about this today but while Kinder and Duplo have similar branding, Duplo does not mention Kinder anywhere on the box, the same way that Nutella doesn't. I don't know where I would mention Duplo then as it would break the flow of the list so I'd rather leave that to someone else to figure out. Thank you :) Kulpas (talk) 16:37, 14 March 2026 (UTC)Reply

Edit request - July 2026

[edit]

There are some updates that I'd like to propose, per Wikipedia's conflict of interest guidelines. This will help update the article with more recent company financial and other news, including news of a restructuring, and notable acquisitions and product activity.

1. The first proposal is to add news of a corporate restructure that was announced earlier this year. This would fit chronologically after the privacy paragraph in the history section, which is currently paragraph number 4.

In March 2026, the company announced a corporate restructuring to support its sweet packaged foods businesses, to go into effect on September 1, 2026.[1] Ferrero executive chairman Giovanni Ferrero was announced as president of Ferrero International S.A., and two new roles were created reporting to him: Alessandro Nervegna was named CEO of Ferrero Core, a newly established business unit including the company's Confectionery; Biscuits and Bakery; and Better-For-You businesses, and Ferrero CEO Lapo Civiletti was named president of Ferrero Ice Cream and WK Kellogg Co.[1]

This will eventually affect the infobox, but per WP:CRYSTAL, it won't go into effect until Sept. 1. With the current large request backlog, this request may still be open then. At that point, the infobox could be updated as follows:

| key_people = Giovanni Ferrero (executive chairman) <br />Lapo Civiletti (CEO)
+
| key_people =

2. The second request updates the headcount, using a better and more reliable source than the crowdsourced Owler.

| num_employees = 47,212 (2023)
+
| num_employees = 48,697 (August 2025).

3. The next request updates operations numbers in the history, with the goal of eventually updating the lead as well. These three short sentences are proposed to go before the restructuring paragraph just added. The last sentence is company sourced, but the text clarifies that it is a company reported number, to meet sourcing guidelines.

As of April 2024, Fortune Magazine reported that Ferraro was the world's second largest chocolate company, after American company Mars Inc..[2]
In its 2025 financial statements released February 2026, the company reported 48,697 employees worldwide, and 36 manufacturing plants.[3] The company also reported that it produced 1.5 million tons of food in 2025.[4]

4. The next change simply changes one sentence to say reportedly, matching the info just added to the history, and removes the outdated WSJ source that doesn't actually say Ferrero is #2. Since the info is in the article, per WP:MOS, the source isn't needed here anymore.

Ferrero is a manufacturer of branded chocolate and confectionery products, and the second largest chocolate producer and confectionery company in the world by revenue.
+
Ferrero is a manufacturer of branded chocolate and confectionery products, and is reportedly the second largest chocolate producer and confectionery company in the world.

5. The next request updates the last paragraph of the lead, summarizing the info previously added to the history section, and removing a now unnecessary (and outdated) source from ten years ago.

As of 2015, the Ferrero Group includes 38 trading companies, 18 factories, and approximately 40,000 employees worldwide. It produces around 365,000 tonnes of Nutella each year, among other products.
+
As of 2025, the Ferrero Group reportedly includes 36 manufacturing plants, and approximately 48,697 employees worldwide. Also as of 2025, it reportedly produces 1.5 million tons of food annually.

6. The last update to the history section adds a notable new product launch at the end of the section.

Also in 2026, the company launched Nutella Peanut, its first new Nutella flavor since 1964.[5]

7. The next update corrects a factual error. Ferrero bought Kelsen Group in July 2019, not early 2020, per the Courier Post source.

In early 2020, a subsidiary of Ferrero purchased Campbell Soup Company's stake in the Danish bakery Kelsen Group...
+
Also in July, a subsidiary of Ferrero purchased Campbell Soup Company's stake in the Danish bakery Kelsen Group...

The paragraph can be attached to the paragraph before that starts "In July 2019,...".
8. The next update clarifies some details about the Fulfil acquisition. The acquisition only covered territory outside North America. After the Fulfil paragraph that starts "In April 2022,...} please add the following:

As part of a pre-existing joint venture with Fulfil, US candy company Hershey was to maintain distribution rights in North America, with Ferrero taking over Fulfil's distribution outside North America.[6]

9. Immediately following that section, please replace the poor source for the Wells acquisition, to address the tag. The new source is used twice. Bare syntax shown to prevent html errors.

In December, the company announced its acquisition of Wells Enterprises, an American ice cream manufacturer based in LeMars, Iowa. Wells Enterprises is best known for Blue Bunny, Blue Ribbon, Bomb Pop, and Halo Top brands.

9. The next requests add several other notable brand acquisitions to the acquisitions section. This one comes after the Fresystem acquisition paragraph that starts "In Feb. 2023":

In July 2023, Ferrero's Ferrara Candy subsidiary acquired Brazilian sweets and snacks company Dori Alimentos,[7] and in October 2023, Ferrara Candy also acquired Jelly Belly candy.[8]

Immediately after that is another notable acquisition:

In January 2025, Ferrero acquired protein snack company Power Crunch from Bio-Nutritional Research, to add to the company's "better-for-you" food category.[9]

The last acquisition can go chronologically at the end of the acquisition section.

In March 2026, the company acquired Brazilian protein snack brand Bold Snacks, also as part of its "better-for-you" food category.[10]

10. After the first paragraph of the product section that discusses Nutella, please add the launch of the brand variant.

The Nutella product line includes a Nutella Peanut variety, introduced in 2026.[5]

Thank you for considering these requests. EllenMallerneeBarnes (talk) 22:14, 29 July 2026 (UTC)Reply
