Council-manager

"While the council–manager plan is quite similar to the 1923 Municipal Manager Law, the Faulkner Act version does not provide tenure for the municipal manager, who can be removed by a vote of the council."

I can't find any information to corroborate this. And in fact, just as an example, in Hackensack, which operates under the 1923 Municipal Manager Law, the city code in relation to the city manager reads:

"The City Manager shall hold office as long as he shall perform the duties of his office to the satisfaction of the City Council. He may be removed at any time by a resolution signed by a majority of the City Council, setting forth the reasons for his removal."

The article for the 1923 Municipal Manager Law also mentions nothing of tenure as having been different than the Faulkner form of council-manager. Though, admittedly, the citations on this article are opening properly, so I can't read the wording of the 1923 to discern how it structures council differently from the Faulkner Act version.
