• New enough, long enough. Article well-sourced, neutral, BLP-compliant, presentable, with no obvious copyright issues. Hook is cited, short enough and interesting. No images in the article. QPQ not necessary. My one concern is that the article backing up the hook is two years old, so saying that she currently holds the record is problematic, since somebody could have broken it in the interim. Can I suggest:
  • ALT1: ... that Australian marathon swimmer Eva Buzo set the record for earliest-in-season English Channel crossing?

• @Pelicanfootman and Mariamnei: I'd be a bit queasy about just running a "person holds record" hook, but the details of the feat are fairly interesting. how about:
  ALT2: ... that Australian Eva Buzo swam the entire English channel in 13 °C (55 °F) waters, breaking the women's world record for earliest-in-season crossing?

• • • • I guess ALT2 is interesting enough, seeing as 13 degrees is very cold to swim in for a long time IMO. This is in comparison to the fridge temp of 5 degrees and the swimming pool temp of 27 degrees. JuniperChill (talk) 19:32, 8 June 2026 (UTC)
