Ena Gregory contributed mightily herself to the confusion regarding her date of birth. (when naturalised in the US she gave the year as 1909) The online government record is quite clear however. Nickm57 (talk) 01:12, 8 April 2017 (UTC)Reply

Subject: Correcting Filmography Error: Separating Ena Gregory (Australian) from Edna Gregory (Canadian)

There is a long-standing historical error on the Ena Gregory page. The filmography currently combines the work of two entirely different silent film actresses whose names were frequently confused by 1920s newspaper typesetters: Ena Gregory (born in Sydney, Australia, 1907) and Edna Gregory (born in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada, 1905).

Primary archival sources conclusively prove that at least two major feature films currently credited to the Australian Ena Gregory actually belong to the Canadian Edna Gregory:

1. "Dante's Inferno" (1924, Fox Film Corporation, dir. Henry Otto) Proof: The Los Angeles Times (Dec 21, 1924, Part III, p. 28) features an article titled "Torture of Damned for Art's Sake" explicitly profiling the cast. It states: "Edna Gregory, whose home town is Winnipeg, is a newcomer to Fox films..." The page also features a clear portrait photograph of Edna Gregory, confirming her identity as the brunette Canadian actress, distinct from the petite, blonde Australian Ena Gregory.

2. "The Desert Flower" (1925, First National, dir. Irving Cummings) Proof: The Anaconda Standard (Dec 27, 1925) lists the geographical origins of the film's cast under the headline "Not One Montanan Is Listed Among These Film Celebrities." It explicitly states: "Edna Gregory, Winnipeg."

Request: The filmography for Ena Gregory needs to be updated to remove "Dante's Inferno" (1924) and "The Desert Flower" (1925), as they belong to the un-profiled Canadian actress Edna Gregory.
