Comment from article creator
[edit]As sources like Belfast Telegraph are behind a paywall, I would appreciate someone to add it. I think she meets WP:NACTOR seeing as she appears in a Netflix series and Zoo. I plan to expand this article further; I just don't have the time rn as its just past midnight for me. JuniperChill (talk) 23:03, 15 April 2026 (UTC)
I have added the sources into the refideas template for anyone to use. Note that the ITV one is a 23 min long video, although (I think) she appears at the very beginning of the video. JuniperChill (talk) 10:47, 18 April 2026 (UTC)
I am nominating this for GA. I know the article is pretty short at 324 words/1812 bytes, but there are definitely articles shorter than this and there are not many reliable sources I could find for her JuniperChill (talk) 19:08, 14 July 2026 (UTC)

Hey, I will review this next week. DaniloDaysOfOurLives (talk) 19:34, 14 July 2026 (UTC)
Hey, well done on the article - it is stable, well-sourced and has no issues from Earwig (). Here are my comments:
- "She is from Lisburn, Northern Ireland" - I think this should be removed from the lead
- "Her acting career begun in 2016" - I think this should go before the Zoo information
- "Flain started her acting career in 2016, while she was studying at the Laurel Hill Community College, when she appeared in the second episode of TG4's Na Dulradóirí, a TV series about Northern Ireland's wildlife where she and her students learned about foxes" - This sentence is quite long, could you please break it up into 2?
- "She said that she was "very lucky" to be acting in the film and was "part of a 'once in a lifetime experience'" and found the elephant Nellie to be the "real star" and "wonderful to film with" - Could you please break this sentence up too?
- "She was one of seventeen young entertainers of Northern Ireland that appeared on Belfast Telegraph's list in 2025" - Can you please clarify what the list is?
- I think the notes section of the filmography should be removed as the episode numbers are uncited
- Is there any more information that can be added?
Once these have been addressed I will do a source spotcheck - please let me know if you have any questions or need support! :) DaniloDaysOfOurLives (talk) 23:23, 22 July 2026 (UTC)
- Thanks for the review Danilo! I've currently done everything except point no 7. I plan to add a little more info about the ITV interview plus the fact that she's "a very outdoors person" tomorrow morning. I could also add the fact that she has green eyes. She only returns about 15 results on Google News (and that includes unreliable IMDb) so its not like I could make this as long as Matilda Freeman (an article you created and which I reviewed for GA!). Regarding point 2, I've also edited the lead of Matilda in order to make it in chronological order and the fact that she also appears in How to Get to Heaven from Belfast. - @DaniloDaysOfOurLives just another reminder that I have addressed your comments and expanded the article as much as I could from 280 words on 27/06/2026 to 444 today. It's also due to today's heatwave and may not be able to edit during the afternoon. JuniperChill (talk) 08:03, 29 July 2026 (UTC)
- Hey, thank you so much for your changes. I have spotchecked Sources #3, #5, #11 and #15 DaniloDaysOfOurLives (talk) 05:38, 1 August 2026 (UTC)

Did you know nomination
[edit]
- ... that Emily Flain was shortlisted for naming the new housing development in Northern Ireland while at primary school, before she became an actress?

- Comment: This is my first time I created an article from scratch to GA (was originally a stub for a couple of months). Not to mention that NI only has 3% of the UK's population so it should be more interesting than it already is. I also loved the Netflix series How to Get to Heaven from Belfast where she appeared as a side character in 5/8 episodes.

This article was wonderfully promoted from stub to GA recently and it meets all the criteria for GA such as having appropriate length and having good sources. Also there are no copyright violations according to Earwig. The QPQ is complete and it has been confirmed that the hook is very interesting. Agreed, that topics on NI are quite interesting, however for assurance, I would still suggest making one more hook to have some diversity. I liked this DYK. Well done! - Thanks for the review and for liking the review Pangalau! I also love how the fact that how I reviewed Matilda Freeman (born 2004) for GA and the user that created Matilda (DaniloDaysOfOurLives) reviewed this one for GA! It means that both me and Danilo are great GAN reviewers and have reviewed at least two of each others articles for GA! Both also appear in that Netflix series and are only born one year apart JuniperChill (talk) 20:10, 5 August 2026 (UTC)
