If some people think this article is premature— sorry! I figured it was worth putting forward given Madilyn Mei’s growing profile and media coverage. How best to include more on the themes of their lyrics?

Madelyn Mei spends time on some themes which might fit the "self-discovery" note in the style and influences section, and which feel worthy of mention in their own right. Examples would be My Only Sense of Purpose which touches on both burnout and AI in creativity/music, and Speak Of The Devil which centers how some family can be closed minded related to queer people, and the alienation that can come with coming out. They do it well (imho), with wit, intelligence, and heart.

I think these have a place in the article, and I don't feel capable of doing it well. Looking for thoughts and feedback, and perhaps for someone to take up the flag on this. TrivialJim (talk) 18:02, 21 September 2025 (UTC)

Inconsistent pronoun use

This individual is referred to using the following pronouns:

1. "He"
2. "She"
3. "They"

Madilyn Mei → Elio Mei – Elio Mei appears to be the subject’s current professional name. The target title already exists as a redirect to this article and has page history, so the move requires administrative action. They've changed their name to Elio on most platforms. While this move might be a little premature, I figured a curious individual would be better served if the article was eventually titled Elio Mei with a redirect from Madilyn, instead of the other way around. Yes, when I originally created this article, virtually all coverage used the name Madilyn Mei exclusively. Based on how the name was being used, I did not understand Madilyn to be a stage name, but rather a name adopted during a gender transition.

Regardless, since Elio did not appear in any significant coverage or reliable sources, Madilyn Mei was the most appropriate choice at creation.

  Given that (as of February 10th 2026) he has changed his stage name to be Elio Mei (see Spotify, Instagram, Apple Music, etc.), should it now be changed? "Madilyn Mei" is no longer what they go by anywhere, so it shouldn't be the title, in my opinion Nmalstm (talk) 18:02, 10 February 2026 (UTC)

Elliot Page's Wikipedia includes his dead name to clear confusion, but also announce that he's changed his name.
