@JASpencer@Zackmann08 Hello there,

I am pinging you because apparently you have both been involved with this new article. We might need to rename it "The Clock Tower of Elgin" or the "Monumental Clock Tower of Elgin" because they are the only English names used in the sources with any claims to being reliable. I have added a reliable scholarly source (St Clair's biography of Elgin published by Oxford University Press) but it doesn't give a name for the clock or the clock tower. I also have concerns over the internet sources cited because there is no evidence that they are from reliable websites with a reputation for fact checking. Indeed, one of them is full of spelling mistakes and grammatical errors. However, this can be fixed. I wanted to run this past you first before I listed this for a page move to see what you think. If you think that "Elgin Clock Tower" is a close enough approximation to the more formal English titles given in the cited Greek sources that would be fine by me. Although it would be nice if we could find at least one reliable source that actually calls it the "Elgin Clock Tower", particularly as Elgin didn't build the tower or pay for it. Assuming Responsibilty

A look at the history will show that this was done in an iterative manner. I believe that it was copied from another article but can't see the clear evidence that is there in other similar articles. JASpencer (talk) 21:39, 4 August 2026 (UTC)

The citations look OK, except for citation 5 which doesn't support the text. Perhaps this citation should go as a See Also link. I would have no problem with retaining this article as a stub. Aemilius Adolphin (talk) 02:00, 5 August 2026 (UTC)
