@Pratishkhedekar: I've accepted the article because it certainly meets the WP:BIO notability guidelines and is generally well-referenced, but the article itself probably needs to be cleaned up. A lot of information is irrelevant and redundant (and often isn't cited correctly) -- a notable example is the "Indian Mercantile Marine Committee" section -- I recommend removing or compressing those parts to improve the article.
