Fuel offers (vouchers)

When will Woolworths & Big W stores stop printing the paper fuel dockets ? For now, I'm hoping they stay in tandem with the Everyday Rewards cards. Anyone have any inside info? Woolworths & Big W no longer print dockets for a scanned Everyday Rewards card. They will still print if there is no card presented at time of sale. 121.44.167.4 (talk) 11:06, 9 August 2010 (UTC)

EG Australia → Caltex WoolworthsCaltex Woolworths – The retailer operated as Caltex Woolworths for the longest, therefore I believe this meets WP:COMMONNAME. It could also be argued the current name (EG Australia) is not distinctive enough to Ampol. • Partial support - I am neutral on this but inclining to support. The majority of the article is about the partnership between Caltex and Woolworths before 2020. The lead and prose can still briefly talk about the period between 2020 to 2026 when it was EG Ampol (like a brief description since the end of Caltex-Woolworths). • Weak support via WP:COMMONNAME, I don't mind either way as a neutral, however the common customers across social media and word of mouth generally continued to refer to the EGs stations as "Caltex/Ampol Woolies" despite legally being known primarily as "EG Ampol" for most of the post-Woolworths ownership period after 2019.   EG is withdrawing from Australia completely, whereas Woolworths still remains, albeit outside of fuel stations, and therefore is still a recognised brand name which I feel meets WP:COMMONNAME. Icaldonta (talk) 11:25, 5 July 2026 (UTC)

  Woolworths has withdrawn from the fuel market and Ampol has withdrawn from the grocery market except for Foodary and Everyday Rewards, and the EG name appears to be phased out anyway, so I don't think the name is relevant. Woolworths is now just a partnership, probably also akin to calling Woolworths Safeway. Jordf32123 (talk) 10:34, 13 July 2026 (UTC)

  Understood, but my argument is that Caltex Woolworths would be the reflective name of most of its history, and the most well-established. EG's history is more complicated, with the switch from Caltex to Ampol as well. I feel that Caltex Woolworths is most reflective of its overall history. The lead for my proposed version would be: Caltex Woolworths (later known as EG Caltex and EG Ampol) Icaldonta (talk) 21:45, 15 July 2026 (UTC)

• Oppose - WP:NAMECHANGES suggests we should apply weight to sources published after the change. From what I can tell, most sources call it EG Australia after the name change. This would be like moving WarnerMedia to Time Warner. It might also be worth splitting the page instead.
