Douglas Dolphin designer

[edit]

Having just visited the Naval Air Museum in Pensacola I was stunned by the similarity of the Douglas Dolphin fuselage to the speedboat designs of John Hacker. In addition, John Hackers speedboat line of boats were called Hackercraft Dolphins. It looks to me that the foremost naval architect of his time had a hand in amphibious aircraft as well. Without a reliable source to confirm that, it's just Original research. It would be interesting if it could be confirmed who did do the hull design, and what the design was based on. - BilCat (talk) 01:55, 20 May 2010 (UTC)Reply
