Edit request: doctorate and unsourced passage
[edit]| The user below has a request that an edit be made to Dominic Cappello. That user has an actual or apparent conflict of interest. The requested edits backlog is very high. Please be extremely patient. There are currently 661 requests waiting for review. Please read the instructions for the parameters used by this template for accepting and declining them, and review the request below and make the edit if it is well sourced, neutral, and follows other Wikipedia guidelines and policies. |
I am the subject of this article and have disclosed my conflict of interest on my user page. I am not editing the article directly. Request 1 — add doctorate to lead After the sentence "Dominic Cappello is an American strategist, writer, designer, and educator." please add: He holds a PhD in curriculum and instruction from New Mexico State University.[1] Reason: The article does not currently mention the subject's doctorate. The dissertation record is offered as verification of the degree; if a university registrar or repository source would be preferred, I can provide one. Request 2 — remove unsourced editorial passage Please remove the following from the section on the 100% Community initiative: "It has been twenty years since the original Adverse Childhood Experience Study, with little to show for systemwide prevention efforts on a national or statewide level to reduce the impact of ACEs and toxic stress. A critical assessment of the ACEs Study was published that recommends that prevention work focus on the social determinants of health." Reason: This passage states a contested evaluative judgment in Wikipedia's voice, and the cited sources do not support the claim as written. It is also inaccurate — the original ACE Study was published in 1998. Removing it improves neutrality per WP:NPOV. Note on the footnotes: This passage carries references 1–4 (Marmot 2014; Marmot et al. 2010; Braveman & Gottlieb 2014; Braveman, Egerter & Williams 2011). These are general sources on the social determinants of health, not sources about the article's subject, and were cited to support the evaluative claim rather than any biographical fact. If they are not reused elsewhere in the article, they can be removed with the passage. If any are reused, please retain those citations. I recognize that removing this passage leaves the article with very few references. I am working on identifying independent sources for the biographical content and will submit them through this process as they are confirmed.
