- Is this page really worth separating from Henotheism? I am struggling to see the conceptual difference between "Diffused monotheism" and that. HiddenHistoryPedia (talk) 21:13, 7 July 2026 (UTC)
Challenge: Article is Subtopic (Insufficient Scope)
[edit]Topical Scope, Sub-topic: As per definition of Henotheism on Henotheism,
"Henotheism is the worship of a single, supreme god that does not deny the existence or possible existence of other deities that may be worshipped.[1][2][3] Friedrich Schelling (1775–1854) coined the word, and Friedrich Welcker (1784–1868) used it to depict primitive monotheism among ancient Greeks.[4]"
I am struggling to understand how the definition provided for "Diffused Monotheism" distinguishes itself sufficiently to merit a separate article, instead of existing as a sub-topic under Henotheism—especially given this article exists as a WP:STUB. Since the article has not yet existed for more than a year, I won't escalate this into a formal merge request, but I think substantial additions will have to be made to this article to establish it as distinct and/or extensive enough to satisfy criteria usually relied on to justify keeping articles separate. Otherwise, this article is at risk for being cited as WP:OVERLAP, WP:MERGESHORT, WP:MERGENOT, and possibly WP:DUP. HiddenHistoryPedia (talk) 19:23, 31 August 2026 (UTC)
