Proposed merge with Salesgenie & InfoUSA

[edit]

Article currently does not indicate notability for Salesgenie other than it's a part of Infogroup. ... discospinster talk 20:48, 9 May 2018 (UTC)Reply

Same goes for InfoUSA. ... discospinster talk 20:50, 9 May 2018 (UTC)Reply

I'm all for it. All three articles were added at the same time and (I believe) by the same account. There was promotionalism in all of them (some worse than others), which I corrected as best I could. I don't think the subdivisions of the company need a page separate from the parent company, but but I'm not super well-versed in this area of business, so I vote tentatively for Merge - Plandu (talk) 21:58, 9 May 2018 (UTC)Reply

Edit request: Data Axle's role as a local business data aggregator

[edit]

Conflict of interest disclosure: I run a local lead-generation business, and my company, VSNARY, builds a website audit tool that checks whether businesses appear in Data Axle's listings. Because of that, I am not editing the article directly. I am asking an uninvolved editor to review this request.

The article currently covers only the company's history. It says nothing about what Data Axle is best known for in local search: being one of the main aggregators of US business listing data. I propose adding the following to the lead or to a new short "Business listings" section:

Data Axle operates as a local business data aggregator. It collects business names, addresses and phone numbers, verifies them by phone, and licenses the data to search engines, in-car navigation systems and online directories. Businesses can submit or correct their information through its Local Listings service, and multi-location brands through a bulk-update service.[1]

The Data aggregation article already lists Infogroup (Data Axle's former name) as one of the major aggregators for local business search, so this would also make the two articles consistent.

If a stronger independent source is preferred over BrightLocal, I'm happy to look for trade-press coverage. Thank you. Vsnary (talk) 04:42, 27 September 2026 (UTC)Reply
