Why is cited Ross Hassig and his book Mexico and the Spanish Conquest? He does not use the term hegemony in that book.

Dense and Impenetrable Writing

The style is so laconic as to be unreadable. Give people some verbs and adjectives, and examples they can relate to. What is the point in having an article on this subject that only sociologists want to read? Not only that, it fails to talk about any manifest examples of hegemony as displayed in the Internet Age. McDonald's would be an obvious start, for instance.

Missing information related to the New Right

Gramsci's theory of cultural hegemony is employed in the writings of far-right philosopher Alain de Benoist and is referred to on the Nouvelle Droite page with little elaboration. If anyone with knowledge of the application of cultural hegemony in the ideology of the New Right could assist in the writing of a section in this article on that subject, that would be much appreciated. -- MysteryDoctorCA (talk) 20:26, 20 May 2020 (UTC)Reply

What would be the purpose of including a reference to the New Right in this article? While "theorists" of the New Right may well claim to be adapting Gramsci's theory to their ideology, it certainly doesn't have any impact on Gramsci, or his followers', theorizing on Cultural Hegemony.
