Crannog

The article states 'In the 14th and 15th centuries the Burnett of Leys built a fortress of timbers on an island they made in the middle of a nearby bog. This method of fortification, known as a crannog, was common in the Late Middle Ages'. Crannogs were however believed to have been in use as far back as the late Bronze age. Stone castles were becoming more common in Scotland in the late Middle ages e.g. Kildrummy Castle and therefore the statement is not entirely accurate. 2A00:23C6:A4A8:6201:19F8:2BBF:2828:D66 (talk) 14:29, 18 July 2023 (UTC)Reply
