Arctic regions

[edit]

"In Arctic regions, cold weather does not make a cradleboard feasible for the infant's survival, and infants are carried by being placed in a sling worn under the mother's parka." This makes no sense, since the Saami used them too in the very weather this purports to not be feasible. -93.106.24.150 (talk) 13:34, 15 November 2019 (UTC)Reply

Symbolism of the Navajo Cradleboard (awééts'áál)

[edit]

I was thinking of adding to this article a section on the topic of the complex symbolism of the different elements and the construction of the cradleboard (awééts'áál) in Navajo culture. However, given that this article regards all cradleboards regardless of culture or specifics of construction and/or symbolism, it might be better for this to be its own separate article titled something like Symbolism of the Cradleboard in Navajo Culture. Please advise. Mils 87 (talk) 18:31, 2 August 2025 (UTC)Reply
