It has been suggested that this article or section be merged with Colleges within universities in the United Kingdom.
[edit]Considering several of the examples mentioned of colleges within universities are Irish or American, this is a poor suggestion. -- Corgi (talk) 17:43, 19 May 2009 (UTC)
Personally, I think that article should simply be renamed Constituent Colleges of the United Kingdom. mnmazur voicemail

It is clear that this suggestion does not accord with the topic, probably the proposer misunderstood the distinctive nature and history of "collegiate universities", i have removed the merge template from the article Ajbpearce (talk) 14:18, 6 January 2010 (UTC)
Reorganisation of page
[edit]I would like to propose a reorganisation of this page to better inform people what collegiate universities are and how they work in different countries. My idea would be something like:
- History
- Forms of collegiate university
- Federal and confederal universities (e.g. London)
- Traditional collegiate universities (e.g. Oxford)
- Independent and dependent colleges (separated out from federal/traditional)
- Affiliated colleges (e.g. QUB - not always regarded as collegiate)
- Collegiate universities around the world (by country)
Most of the material for this is already here, but this would give a more logical structure to the page. What do others think? Robminchin (talk) 00:36, 15 August 2017 (UTC)
