Antipodal point, notable or trivial?

I noticed this new edit that begins Christmas Island is geographically notable within Australia for having a terrestrial antipodal point. Is it really notable for this, either in the Wikipedia sense or the real-world sense of the word? The question of what point on Earth is antipodal to some other point is of no practical consequence. It falls into the domain of geographic trivia, possibly meriting the reaction "Well, isn't that interesting?", but there isn't anything notable about it. Is this fact even sufficiently significant to be worth mentioning? If it is, is the word "notable" at least inappropriate here? Largoplazo (talk) 23:25, 26 December 2025 (UTC)Reply
