Did you know... that François Roudaire (pictured) proposed flooding the Sahara by a channel cut from the Mediterranean to the Chott el Fejej, an event which was portrayed in Jules Verne's last novel, and later was re-imagined with nuclear explosives?

Inclusion of Nouakchott

Should there be a reference to Nouakchott here? According to the Nouakchott article, that name is believe to be Berber, meaning "place of the wind". It doesn't appear to be related to this "chott". —Largo Plazo (talk) 13:40, 13 July 2011 (UTC)Reply
