Closely held belief or hoax?

From the two external links that I skimmed, it appears that Chonosuke Okamura actually believed his story to be the truth, a flip of the "Cottingley Fairies" hoax. Am I correct in this perception or is there any indications that he was also perpetrating a hoax?? Thank you, Wordreader (talk) 15:35, 11 January 2014 (UTC)Reply
